Auto Insurance
All motorists in Utah are required by the state to carry auto insurance. Our agents are available to discuss your legal responsibilities regarding automobile insurance. We’re also available as consultants to you. We’re here to educate consumers about making insurance purchasing decisions that make sense. Insurance can seem complex to those who aren’t familiar with the terms and verbiage in insurance policies. We’re here to help you understand what you’re purchasing and why.
Required Coverage
The state of Utah requires motorists to carry coverage for damage caused by you as well as coverage for accidents caused by other drivers who are operating without coverage (illegally). The coverage you must carry for accidents caused by you will pay for expenses related to injuries and property damage. It’s important that you consider the expense of the state minimum limits as well as the cost of coverage in excess of those minimum limits. Remember that if you cause an accident that results in expenses in excess of your coverage, that additional cost will be your responsibility to cover.
Non-Mandated Coverage
While the state of Utah has minimum requirements, there’s the coverage you may want to consider purchasing for your automobile. Collision and Comprehensive auto insurance coverage are not required. The premiums may seem expensive and perhaps excessive, but there may be a time you’ll be thankful you have it. This type of coverage will cover expenses such as fire, hail, and windshield replacement. Depending on the age and condition of your auto, you may want to consider this coverage.
