Motorcycle Insurance

The agents at Blue Valley Insurance can help Utah motorcyclists understand their legal insurance coverage requirements. Whether you’re a seasoned biker or if you’re newly considering buying a bike, we can help you understand what you must legally purchase to satisfy the state of Utah.

We aren’t only here to sell rider's insurance. We’re also available to consult with you about what’s prudent to have for coverage. The state of Utah puts forth legal requirements, outlining what drivers must carry. Those limits, however, are merely minimums.

Liability Insurance

The state of Utah requires motorcyclists to carry liability insurance that covers property damage and bodily injury. We can talk to you about what the current state minimum limits are and what we recommend for you and the type of motorcycle you’re insuring. Remember that purchasing insurance doesn’t mean that all expenses related to an accident caused by you will be covered. Remuneration for any financial damage in excess of the limits you purchase will be your responsibility.

Additionally, if you’re financing your motorcycle through a dealer or bank, the minimum property limits set forth by the state of Utah may not satisfy the lender. The lender needs to protect their asset. They own the bike until you satisfy the terms of your loan. You may be required to carry coverage in excess of the state minimums.

Cost of Coverage

The agents at Blue Valley Insurance are available to discuss the cost of insurance, premiums. We would like to offer you a quote that satisfies you, the state of Utah and your lender if you have one. We are able to discuss ways to possibly reduce your insurance premiums, and if those ways make sense for you.

For example, raising your deductible will impact your premium. We would like to help you understand the impact of raising your deductible so that you can make a sensible decision regarding your coverage. Additionally, there may be other ways to reduce your premium, such as driver safety courses and storing your motorcycle during months when your bike isn’t being used.

We encourage you to reach out to us for more information about the insurance requirements for motorcyclists in Utah. We’re here to serve you with more than just insurance coverage. We’re here to help you make decisions that work for you financially.
